What is your research project going to look like?
These are the requirements for your research project. (In otherwords, what you will be expected to complete and pass in for a grade.)

Research: You will be collecting information from a variety of different resources. You can use the internet, encyclopedias, television, books, magazines etc. As you look through your different resources you will be creating notecards. Each of your notecards should have information pertaining to one aspect of this person's life. For example, one notecard can hold the information about his person's accomplishments. Another notecard will hold the information about this person's education or family life. Make sure that you write down the information from your resources (website address, authors, page numbers) and include them on your notecards so that you can include this information in your bibliography. We will be going over this in class.

Biography Graphic Organizer: After you have found your information on your Candidate you will be filling out a Graphic Organzier. You will put the information that you researched on this paper. This is an example of what the Graphic Organizer looks like, Biography Graphic Organizer. We will be going over this and reviewing it in class.

Timeline: As you research your topic you are going to be finding important dates in the life of your Candidate. You will be recording those dates on a time line and you will be telling me what specifically happens on those dates. You have a choice of how you want to present your material you may do your timeline online and then print it, or you may write it by hand in your neatest handwriting. If you want to complete your timeline on the computer you may use the following online tool. We will go over this in class.

Poster: You are also going to be creating a poster that you can use on the day of your presentation to represent your candidate. You are going to be including pictures and quotes on your poster. Your poster should convince us of why you think your candidate would make a good president. Make sure that your posters are neat and are pleasing to the eye.

Newspaper: You are going to be creating a newspaper. You are going to be writing small articles that tell us about your candidate, what they have done, what they promise to do, and where they have come from and including them in your newspaper. You should include pictures, quotes, and the information that you have researched. You will be using the following resource to create your newspaper.
